PREMATURE BLAST WENT OFF.

One Killed and Three Injured at State Quarry in Wells.

Bennington, June 3.--By the premature discharge of a blast in the Williams State Quarry at Wells Saturday, one man lost his life, and three others were seriously injured. Hugh Williams was horribly mangled and one leg blown off. He was taken to his home but died in a few hours.

The face of Arthur Williams, son of the owner of the quarry, was filled with powder. Owen Williams was badly crushed and cut. The dead man, Hugh Williams was about 28 years old. He recently came from Wales, and leave a young wife.
