Police Officer, Wife Flee Fire

BELLOWS FALLS--Lt. Kenneth J. Fletcher of the state police and Mrs. Fletcher fled their burning home at 19½ Westminster Ter. early Monday morning over a cupola roof. Lt. Fletcher suffered burns on the arms and face. Foofy, their dog, was found unconscious on the second floor by Fire Chief Daniel R. Howard, but recovered.

A discarded cigarette in an overstuffed chair in the living room apparently started the blaze, according to Chief Howard. Fletcher was at one time stationed in Bennington.
