Sweeny, TX Truck And Auto Crash Kills Five, Jul 1996

WRONG-WAY DRIVER KILLS FIVE.

Sweeny, Texas - A truck going the wrong way on a one-way road slammed into an oncoming car Sunday, killing five men, authorities said.
The crash happened just before 10 a.m. near this small town about 40 miles south of Houston.
None of the victims was wearing a seat belt. Investigators didn't immediately know how fast the vehicles were traveling. The speed limit on the road is 55 mph.
The dead were identified as:
TERRENCE LYNN MAY, JR., 27, the driver of the truck;
SHAWN WAYNE SEIDLER, 21;
and JAMES ROBERT MAY, 19, both passengers in the truck;
CHARLES WILBERT GUNTER, 73, driver of the car;
and his passenger, JAMES OWEN LINNETT, 45.
It was not immediately clear whether TERRENCE and JAMES MAY were related.
