Wichita Falls, TX Head On Crash Of Autos, Dec 1958

SIX KILLED AS TWO CARS CRASH NEAR WICHITA.

Wichita Falls, Dec. 19 (AP) - Six persons died today in a grinding head-on crash of two automobiles five miles east of here on U.S. Highway 82.
The dead were identified as:
S. Sgt. and MRS. ED IVAN SCHOWENGERDT and MRS. ED IVAN SCHOWENGERDT, of Memphis< Tenn.,; and their 4-months-old daughter; and three Texas negroes who were in the other car.
The Texans were identified as PHILIP DUNN, 22, of Quilan; GEORGE EASTON COOPER, 19, of Wichita Falls; and FREEMAN DAVIS, 21, also of Wichita Falls.
A son of the SCHWENGERDTS, who is 2 1/2 years old, was injured but reported in good condition. Two negroes also were injured and reported in fair condition. They are PATRICIA SMALLWOOD, 20, of Henrietta and JAMES COOPER, 21, of Wichita Falls.
The SCHOWENGEDT family was en route to Frederick, Okla., to spend Christmas.
