Several Persons Meet Death from Strokes During Storm
Gainesville, Texas October 7. – Mrs. August Graham, wife of a prosperous farmer five miles southwest of this city, was struck by lightning while in a field near her home yesterday and was instantly killed. Mrs. Graham had gone to the field to look after some cotton pickers, when a cloud came up and they went to the house amid several flashes of lightning. They soon returned to the field to see about Mrs. Graham and found her dead, with the marks of lightning visible.
Floyd, Texas October 7. – Ward Harp, who lives on Kyle Turner's farm, three miles from here, was killed by lightning this afternoon. He was standing in the door of his house at the time. He leaves a widow and two small children.
McKinney, Texas October 7. – Lovett Frazier, aged 22 years, was struck by lightning and killed in a cotton field south of Farmersville late yesterday afternoon. He had been married six years.
