FIRE -- We have been informed by a gentleman from Jasper county, Texas, that the courthouse and jail of the county were burned down, on the night of the 22d ultimo. In the courthouse, unfortunately, were deposited the whole records of the county -- those referring to probates, land-claims, land-titles, and all suits civil and criminal. They stood apart from one another, and the fixed opinion of the citizens is, that the act was perpetrated by an incendiary. One man is arrested, and, for the want of necessary bail, imprisoned in the next county jail. The proof thus far against hire, however, is but circumstantial. -- N. Orleans Delta, Nov. 19.
