Roanoke, TX Cooker Explosion, July 1937

PRESSURE COOKER EXPLOSION FATAL.

Fort Worth, June 26 (UP) -- WHITLEY KING, 11, of Roanoke, Denton County, died today of burns suffered when a pressure cooker exploded at the farm house of his father, FRANK KING, Forth Worth policeman.
Young KING was burned Friday while helping his brother, BURNETT, 13, prepare some vegetables for canning. The explosion set fire to both boys' clothing and the father was burned severely when he rushed to their aid. BURNETT KING also was treated for serious burns.
