Special To The News
Walnut Springs, Tex., May 21. – News by telegram reached here early today that the Texas Central passenger train No. 4, eastbound, and due here about 4:30, went through a bridge two miles east of Carbon at an early hour this morning. The engine, with Engineer MCKINNEY in charge, and the baggage coach plunged to the bed of the stream over which the bridge was built. No one was killed and only the baggage master and mail clerk slightly injured.
The accident was due to heavy rains, causing the bridge to be weakened by the torrents of rushing water.
