Warwick, TN Dynamite Explosion, May 1904

DYNAMITE IS THE DEATH OF SIX MEN.

FOUR ARE KILLED OUTRIGHT AND TWO OTHERS CANNOT SURVIVE.

Warwick, Tenn., May 30. -- Four men were killed and two fatally injured today in a dynamite explosion which occurred near here.
The dead are:
JAMES BIRCHELL and JOHN BIRCHELL, his son.
JOHN HUNTLEY.
HENRY McALLISTER.
The injured are:
HAL HUNTLEY.
GEORGE RIDDENOUR.
The accident was due to the carelessness of men at work in a rock cut. They had been ordered to lay some blasts and it was while they were tamping the holes that the explosion occurred.
