Madison, Dakota, Feb. 4. -- The State Normal School, one of the finest brick structures in Dakota, caught fire in the basement at eight o'clock this evening, and the fire department and citizens came out promptly and did every thing in their power to save the building; but at this time (now ten p.m.,) the building is all ablaze and cannot be saved. The loss on building and contents will reach twenty thousand dollars. There was no insurance on the buildilng. The citizens of Madison have met with a severe loss in the burning of the Normal School.
