LIGHTNING KILLS YOUTH DRIVING CATTLE HOME.

Canova -- (RNS) -- Thirteen-year-old CLAYTON PALMQUIST was killed instantly early Saturday evening when struck by lightning while he and a brother were rounding up cattle on his parent's farm.
The two youths were driving cattle at about 6 o'clock when the bolt of lightning struck the youth who was riding a horse. Both were killed. His brother, JOHN who was about a block away at the time, was stunned by the lightning.
The youth was an eighth grade student at the Howard Public School.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Palmquist, three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral arrangements, in charge of the Willoughby Funeral Home of Howard, were incomplete this morning, but the rites will be in Sun Prairie Baptist Church southeast of Canova.
