CAVEIN WRECKS THE TOWN
Foundation Falls Out of Pennsylvania Mining Village
WILKESBARRE, Pa., March 27 – Sixteen dwellings were wrecked last night at Hamtown, a small mining village near here, by a cavein at the abandoned No. 8 colliery of the Pennsylvania Coal company. The broken water main is flooding the min and the cave is extending. Huge fissures have appeared in the streets of the town and many houses are in danger. Residents in the vicinity of the mine are removing to places of safety.
