Scranton, PA Crystal Lake Drowning Rescue, Aug 1911

SCRANTON.----George H. Evans, superintendent of the Boys' Industrial Association of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, proved himself a hero by rescuing Max Wolfgang, George Smith and William Kuirson from drowning in Crystal Lake. Evans was teaching the boys to swim when they got into deep water. After a terrific struggle, he brought them ashore and other boys resuscitated them.
