MAN KILLED IN MACHINE GEARS.

Philadelphia, Pa. - FRANKLIN N. JOHNS, 32, a foreman at the Stephen
F. Whitman Candy Company, Philadelphia, was dead today from injuries received when his foot caught in revolving parts of an emulsifying machine.
Workers turned off the machine and tried to extricate him. A plant physician finally amputated the partially severed foot and freed him, but JOHNS was dead on arrival at a hospital.
