Pittsburgh, PA (near) Auto Accident Kills Four, Nov 1980
FOUR KILLED IN ONE CAR ACCIDENT.
Pittsburgh, Pa. (UPI) - Four Allegheny County teenagers were killed late Saturday when their car flipped over a bridge railing and plunged 180 feet into a stream, state police said.
All the victims', residents of Pittsburgh's Stanton Heights section, died instantly.
The Allegheny County coroner's office identified the four as:
CHARLES D. BALESTRIERI, 19.
RITA KOVACSICS, 16.
KIMBERLY SZULKOWSKI, 16.
KATHLEEN O'ROURKE, 16.
State police said the vehicle was traveling south on the Route 28 bypass in O'Hara Township at 11:30
p.m. when it struck the bridge railing, plunged over the edge and landed on its top in Squaw Creek.
Police said the car, apparently driven by BALESTRIERI, was traveling at a high rate of speed.
