STRUCK BY A TROLLEY CAR
One man Killed. Another Fatally injured Near Lansford, Pa.
Tamaqua, Pa., Aug 13, Milton Whetstone, aged 33 years, cashier of the Citizens’ National Bank of Lansford, was instantly killed and Daniel McGeehan, aged 27 years, assistant cashier of the same institution, was fatally injured by their carriage being struck by a trolley car.
The men were returning to Lansford after a short drive, and were crossing the tracks of the Eastern Pennsylvania Street Railway company when a car bore down on them. They whipped up their horse, but before they could cross the track the car struck the carriage. Both men were thrown under the car. Whetstone was killed instantly. McGeehan’s back was broken by the collision.
