East Liberty, PA Horse Stable Accident, Mar 1835

SHOCKING.

Uniontown, Pa. March 25.
ROBERT JOHN, a lad of 10 or 12 years of age, was killed in East Liberty in this county on Monday the 16th Inst. in the most shocking manner. He was engaged in cleaning out a stable, in which there was an ill disposed horse confined.
The horse attacked him in a most furious manner; after having kicked him over with his hind feet the first time, he continued the blows when ever the boy would attempt to rise, until life was nearly extinct. When assistance arrived it was too late !! He only survived a few minutes !! His little mangled corpse was one gore of blood, and so were the horse's feet up to his very knees. -- Genius of Liberty.
