BARKING DOG SAVES LIFE
Even Then Head of Household Has to Carry Out Family From Flames.
Special to The Inquirer.
SUNBURY, Pa., May 29.—Early today the barking of a watchdog awoke Joseph Straub in Lower Augusta township. He found the lower portion of his home in flames. Rushing through fire and smoke a number of times he carried several of his children, also his wife, in their night dresses from bed rooms to the street.
The structure quickly burned, causing a loss of $1500, partly covered by insurance.
