Altoona, PA Train Kills Two Men, Nov 1925
RUN DOWN BY ENGINE.
Altoona, Nov. 29. -- Two Altoona railroad men were killed here early this morning when run down by an engine near the passenger station of the Pennsylvania railroad.
The dead are:
JOHN H. ELDER, engineer, of Altoona.
SHERMAN L. MYERS, fireman, Altoona.
The men had been called to take a train to Pittsburgh and had just gone out onto the tracks to board the engine that had been sent from the shops for them, when they were struck. Both were instantly killed. MR. ELDER was single. MR. MYERS is survived by his wife.
