Wilkes-Barre, Pa (UPI) -- State Police sought clues Friday to the cause of the crash of a light plane that left a Minneapolis man, his wife and teenaged son dead.
The wreckage of a single-engine Piper Comanche was spotted Friday by a Civil Patrol pilot in a wooded mountainous area near Springbrook Twp., about 10 miles southeast of the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Airport in Lackawanna County.
The bodies of three persons, DAVID VRASPIR, 47, his wife, DOROTHY, 50, and their 14-year-old son, GARY, were found amid the rubble.
State Police said the light plane took off from the Wilkes-Barre-Scranton Airport at 8 p.m. Wednesday en route to Teterboro Airport in northern New Jersey and a subsequent trip to New York for the Thanksgiving holiday.
