Roseburg, OR Bridge Collapses Kills Six, Aug 1911

DEFECTIVE TIMBER CAUSES ACCIDENT.

SIX MEN KILLED IN OREGON WHEN BRIDGE COLLAPSES.

Roseburg, Ore., Aug. 25. -- Six men were killed and five injured when a bridge over the Umpqua River, sixteen miles northeast of here, collapsed and fell into the river, sixty feet below.
The dead are:
GLEN WILSON.
WILLIAM BULIEU.
GARY BROWN.
PETER McFARLAND.
WILLIAM GARDNER.
WILLIAM ACCUSTA.
Defective timber in the upper frame work of the main span, on which the ten men were working, caused the accident.
