Beggs, OK Head On Collision Kills Five, Apr 1956

OKLAHOMA ROAD CRASH KILLS FIVE.

Beggs, Okla. (AP) - Five persons were killed and three others critically injured Sunday when two cars collided head-on three miles north of here on State Highway 75.
Four of the dead were from Tulsa, while the other fatality was RICHARD LEON DOUGLAS, 21, of Sapulpa, driver of one of the vehicles.
Highway Patrol troopers identified the other victims as:
CARL LITTLEJOHN, 33, driver;
HAZEL MARTIN, 33;
MILDRED PRINCE, 32;
and MARIE MAYFIELD, 23.
Two other passengers in the Littlejohn car, TROY MORGAN, 39, and FRELEN HANLEY, 31, both of Tulsa were critically injured in the highway accident, described by the patrol as the state's worst this year.
RONNIE DOUGLAS, JR., 15, a passenger in the other car and brother of the driver, also was critically injured. Trooper Earl Glenn said he was thrown out and the car overturned on top of him.
Glenn said both cars were traveling down the center of the highway and met head-on. The accident occurred at 2:45 a.m.
