Rush Springs, OK Head On Auto Collision, Sep 1957
FIVE PERSONS DIE IN CRASH.
Oklahoma City, Sept. 8 - (UP) - Five persons were killed tonight in a grinding head-on traffic collision south of Rush Springs in Grady County on U.S. Highway 81.
Four members of one family were killed in the crash, which occurred 2 1/2 miles south of Rush Springs.
The highway patrol reported the Paris, Tex. in another accident five and a half miles south of Hardesty in the Panhandle. Three persons were critically injured in that accident.
Victims of the Rush Springs collision were identified as:
MR. and MRS. ROY HOBBS, who live southeast of Marlow, and two of three children riding with them. The youngsters were believed to be their sons or grandsons.
WILLIE WILLMAN, about 28 years old, of Rush Springs, was the fifth victim.
The highway patrol also received a report of two additional road deaths between Glenpool and Jenks, south of Tulsa. The victims were the REV. OTIS POWELL of Glenpool and his wife. That brings the Oklahoma death count to 467 for the year.
There were four other week end traffic deaths in Oklahoma.
