BUSINESS PART OF A TOWN BURNED.

Columbus, O., Jan. 28. -- Fire destroyed almost the entire business portion of the town of Centerburg, 50 miles north of Columbus, on the Cleveland, Akron & Columbus railway. Columbus sent the assistance of part of its fire department, but it arrived too late to do much good.
The property destroyed is as follows:
H. C. Smith & Co., grocery.
A. W. Hawkins & Co., dry goods.
W. Steern's, clothing.
John Harvey, meats.
Sol. A. Wright, restaurant.
W. A. Jacobs, bakery.
G. W. Bouark, undertaker.
the Armstrong business block.
Dr. S. C. Lewis' residence.
The fire started in the basement of Steern's clothing store. Its origin is not known. The total loss is $75,000, most of the property being poorly covered by insurance.
