Farmer Near Fertile Struck by Lightning Early This Morning
Fertile, April 27. - This vicinity was visited at an early hour this morning by a severe thunderstorm and one fatality resulted as a consequence of the lightning. The victim is Jens FEXUM, whose home was southeast of Rindal in Bear Park township, Norman county.
FEXUM had gone to his barn to care for his horses, and was busy preparing for the days work when a bolt of lightning struck the building, the force of the electric fluid killing him instantly. The horses which he was harnessing were stunned but not seriously injured.
Mr. FAXUM (sic) was 33 yeaers of age and leaves a widow and four children. He was one of the best known and most prosperous farmers in that section and his loss will be deeply felt.
