Lt. Martin J. Murray of Seymour Johnson Air field, Goldsboro, about 3 p.m. today bailed out of his burning plane and landed at Oak Grove station on Maxton road about three miles from Lumberton. The plane went on into the Clyburn section, about five miles from town, where it landed and was practically consumed by the flames.

The Air Port Fire department reached the place and as we go to press had the fire just about extinguished, but the single motored plane appeared to be a complete loss.

Lt. Murray was carried to Thompson Memorial hospital by a passing motorist where by is said to be suffering from shock and a sprained ankle.
