Boston, MA Construction Accident, May 1885

A LADY IS INSTANTLY KILLED.

Boston, May 27. -- This afternoon a derrick used in hoisting building material for the construction of the new Unitarian building, corner of Beacon and Park streets, fell from the second story, owing to the breaking of a guy rope. MISS GRACE LORD, 40 years old, of No. 13 Lyman street, who was passing with a companion, was struck on the head and instantly killed. Her companion escaped injury. MISS LORD was well known in literary circles as a translater of French works.
