7 KILLED BY L.V. TRAIN ON N.Y. CROSSING.
CRASH NEAR BATAVIA CLAIMS 5 MEMBERS OF FAMILY RETURNING FROM MIDNIGHT MASS.
Batavia, N.Y., Dec. 26 - Investigation today was being made into the cause of an accident which early yesterday claimed the lives of seven persons, five of whom were members of one family, when the automobile in which they were riding was hit by a Lehigh Valley passenger train No. 2, at a grade crossing near here. The train was en-route from Buffalo to New York, due in Wilkes-Barre at 5:16 a.m. Christmas morning.
The dead are:
ALEX WIENCLAW, 30, his wife, MARY, 26, their two children, RICHARD, 9, and ARTHUR, 11, ZYGAUND KRZEWSKI, 17, STANLEY WOJICK, 18, all of Buffalo, and MRS. HATTIE BIEDRON, 52, of Lindon, mother of WIENCLAW.
The group were returning from midnight mass to join the remaining BIEDRON family when the accident occurred.
