3 Drowned, 1 Rescued As Auto Is Submerged

Cooperstown, N. Y., Dec. 30.—(AP)—Three persons were drowned tonight and a fourth was rescued when a light sedan skidded on a snow-covered road and hurtled into eight feet of water in the Collier Dam spillway.

The dead:

Ralph Roberts, 35; his wife, Marcia Oakley Roberts, 27, and her father, William Oakley, all of Milford, N.Y.

Frank Lyman, 64, of Milford, was rescued from the submerged car after a hole was cut in the top. He was in a critical condition at a Cooperstown hospital.
