Eleven Drowned In Albany Area

Drowning Accidents Over Week End Claim Eleven Victims in Up-State New York--Names of Person Drowned.

Albany, N.Y., Aug. 16 (AP)--Drowning accidents claimed eleven victims over the week end in upstate New York, according to a checkup today. They were:

Thomas, George and Joseph Ritz, sons of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Ritz of Coxsackle, drowned when automobile backed off Hudson-Athens ferry into the Hudson river, near Athens. Ritz was cranking his car, which was left in reverse gear. Mother and another son were rescued.

Joseph Carnell, 14, Troy, drowned in Saratoga Lake.

Donald White, 16, Springfield, Mass., drowned in Hudson river near Troy.

Hoover Tooker, 29, Albany, drowned when canoe overturned in Hudson river.

Antonio Petrola, 33, Rochester drowned after dive at Eastport Bay, Lake Ontario.

Louis L. Gay, 55, drowned in Chautauqua Lake when he fell from rowboat.

John A. Ort, a policeman of North Bergen, N. J., drowned Port Jervis, when a paralytic stroke overcame him while swimming.

Morris Ackerman, 18 years old, of New York city, drowned in an artificial lake near Monticello while swimming.
