Bear Mountain, NY Private Plane Crash, Aug 1950

PLANE CRASH FATAL TO FATHER AND DAUGHTER.

Bear Mountain -- (UP) -- Two persons who died when their light plane crashed and burned in Bear Mountain state park were identified today as HOYT SMITH, 53, of Larchmont, and his 14-year-old daughter, SYLVIA.
State police said identification was made through watches found on the bodies and dental charts. The bodies were burned beyond recognition.
The plane, which had taken off from Valhalla, Weschester county, crashed into a mountainside yesterday.
