Atlantic City, NJ Drownings, June 1915
Seven bathers, including prominent members of the Philadelphia summer colony, were drowned at Atlantic City, NJ, Sunday in a heavy sea. Scores of others were dragged to the beach in an unconscious state after life guards had battled desperately to save their lives. One other man was drowned when six fishing smacks capsized simultaneously, a score of fishermen being thrown into the water.
