Manchester, NH Merchants Exchange Bldg Fire, Apr 1874

The Merchants' Exchange Building on Elm street, Manchester, N. H., was damaged by fire yesterday morning to the amount of $1,500; insured in Springfield. Messrs. Piper & Hawley and Holton & Sprague, extensive dry-goods dealers, loose heavily by water. Both firms are fully insured. The dry-goods store of Jackson & Co., was slightly damaged by water. The office of the New-Hampshire Fire Insurance Company and the offices of several lawyers were burned out.
