Grand Island, NE Train Accident, Feb 1899
Dragged by a Train
GRAND ISLAND, Neb., Feb. 15.---(Special,)---John Cornelius saw a brother off on yesterday afternoon's east bound fast mail. He remained on the train until it was in good motion. He is a cripple, having had one wooden foot, and in some manner in attempting to leave the train, he was caught and was dragged for three blocks. His live foot was badly crushed, and he was somewhat injured about the head, but, this morning appears to be quite well, and beyond the amputation of a part of the foot it is not expected that there will be any serious results.
