Roundup, MT Auto And Oil Tanker Collision, Apr 1955

THREE KILLED, THREE ARE INJURED WHEN CAR CRASHES INTO OIL TANKER ON HIGHWAY NEAR ROUNDUP.

Roundup -- (AP) -- Three persons were killed and three others were injured Thrusday night when a car attempting to pass a second auto collided with an oil tank truck.
Police identified the victims as:
JACK OSTERMILLER, about 31, of Billings.
CHARLES BECKER, about 65, of Roundup.
RUTH SERCEL, about 16, of Roundup.
Officers said MRS. BECKER was in critical condition at a local hospital. Also hospitalized with undetermined injuries were HELEN SERCEL, about 30, and HELEN GAVINSKY, about 25, both of Roundup.
Police said the dead and injured were riding in an auto driven by HELEN SERCEL, sister of one of the victims.
The accident occurred about two miles east of Roundup on Montana Highway No. 6.
Officers said the SERCEL car apparently was attempting to pass an auto driven by MARKUS BOTHUM of White Sulphur Springs when it collided with the truck driven by HERSCHEL SKAGGS of Laurel. Bothum and Skaggs were not injured.
