Humansville, MO Wagon Goes Into River, Aug 1898

SIX LOST IN A MISSOURI RIVER.

THE FORDING PLACE HAD BEEN MADE IMPASSABLE BY HEAVY RAINS.

Humansville, Mo., Aug. 1. - News has just reached here of the drowning of six people in the Pomme de Terre River at the Dorman Ford, two miles south of Hermitage, this morning.
The party was returning from a picnic at Hermitage. There had been a heavy rain and when they drove into the water they sank at once. Only one person out of the seven escaped.
The names of the drowned are as follows:
JOE MOORE;
LAURA MOORE;
EULA KELLY;
DOSSIA KELLY;
LAURA KELLY;
and MINNIE MASON.
The bodies could not be recovered.
