Parkville, MO Motor Boat Capsizes Drowns Four, June 1913

BOAT TURNS OVER; FOUR DIE.

KANSAS CITY (KAS.) PARTY THROWN INTO RIVER FROM MOTOR CRAFT.

Kansas City, Mo., June 22 -- KENNETH LEWIS, 22 years old; LOREN WELKER, 18 and MAY SECRIST, all of Kansas City, Kas., and a young woman whose name has not been learned, were thrown into the Missouri River near Parkville, Mo., when a motor boat in which the four were riding was capsized late today.
They were swept down the stream and it is believed all were drowned. Police from this city recovered the empty boat a few hours after the accident and it was identified as belonging to LEWIS.
Up to a late hour none of the bodies had been recovered.
