Corinth, MS Two Car Head On Crash, Aug 1967


Corinth, Miss. (AP) - Nine persons, five of them members of a family headed for a lakeside vacation, died Friday night after a two-car, head-on collision four miles west of this northeast Mississippi town.
One girl, a guest on the vacation, survived. Three died in the crash, the others soon afterward.
The victims:
MR. and MRS. MALCOLM M. WADLINGTON, both about 45.
their three daughters, JUDY, 13, JANE, 11, and ANN, 10, of Sledge, Miss.
BETTY BROWN, 10 of Iuka, Miss.
DON GENO, 35, a mechanic.
BURTON DAVIS, 35, a farmer.
BILLY O'NEAL, all of Booneville.
The only survivor was a 12-year-old girl, ANN HOGAN of Sledge, who was riding with the WADLINGTONS. She was seriously injured.
Police said the collision happened on U.S. 72, on a bridge crossing the Tuscumbia River.
