Vicksburg, MS Trailer Truck And Auto Collision, Mar 1951


Vicksburg, Miss., March 23 (AP) - Five persons were killed and a sixth injured nine miles north of Vicksburg, Miss., when their car was in collision with the rear of a stalled trailer-truck.
The dead were identified by Mississippi highway police as:
D. W. McDONALD, 39, of (1324 Davitt Street) Evansville, Ind.
His wife, MRS. VERA McDONALD, 36.
J. R. BROWN, 51, of (1401 Wright Street) Henderson, Ky., MRS. McDONALD'S father.
ALLEN WILLIS, JR., Vicksburg, driver of the truck.
GORDON McDONALD, 12, son of MR. and MRS. McDONALD.
ROBERT KING, 14, a nephew of MRS. McDONALD, was taken to the emergency hospital at Vicksburg in a serious condition with a skull fracture.
Highway Patrolman J. H. Carsley said the driver of the McDONALD automobile apparently did not see the truck. No skid marks were evident, he reported.
