LITTLE GIRL DROWNED.

Cass Lake, Sept. 7. - Margaret Boyd, a 9-year-old pupil in the Indian school, located on the north shore of Allen's Bay, a few miles north of Cass Lake, was drowned early Friday morning while attempting to cross Turtle river, near where that stream flows into the Cass lake. The little girl desired to go to her home and was on the opposite side of the river. There being no other available means of crossing the stream, Margaret started to wade the water. When the girl head [sic] reached a point about the middle of the river, she sank in a deep hole and was drowned.
