Goshen, MA Fatal Runaway Accident, May 1908
COLLEGE GIRL KILLED WHEN HORSES RAN AWAY
Northampton, Mass., May 20.---Miss Ethel Borroughs, of Somerville, a senior, at Smith college was killed by being thrown from a carriage in which she was riding with a classmate, Miss Mary Doris, also of Somerville, and other friends in the neighboring town of Goshen.
The span of horses started to run away, the girls became frightened and in attempting to get out of the carriage Miss Burroughs was thrown. She struck on her head, breaking her neck.
