Fitchburg, MA House Fire, Apr 1931
House Damaged $300
Damage estimated at about $300 was caused by a fire at the home of L. D. Taylor, 21 South street, yesterday afternoon. According to the story told Chief Henry J. Hyatt a four-year-old boy was alone on the upper floor of an L connected with the house and a few minutes after the boy came down the fire was discovered.
Roy Lafleur, a member of Hose 4, was passing and notified the occupants of the house. Box 41 was sounded after Central station had been notified by telephone. Much water was used and the lower floor was damaged by water. Fire broke through on the roof in a few places.
