WOMAN KILLED AFTER HEAD-ON COLLISION WITH BIG RIG.

Rising Sun, Md. - A Pennsylvania woman suffered fatal injuries Friday when her compact car crashed into a tractor-trailer on Route 1 near Rising Sun, according to the Maryland State Police at the North East Barrack.
KIM E. McNEILL, 52, of West Grove was taken to Christiana Hospital in Delaware, where she later died police said.
The traffic accident took place on a section of Route 1 known as the Rising Sun By-Pass, just south of the Pennsylvania state line.
According to police, McNEILL was driving a 2008 Hyundai Elantra in the southbound lane of Route 1 about 8:15 a.m. when her car veered across the centerline into the northbound lane.
McNEILL'S car cut into the path of a northbound 1998 Intern Eagle tractor-trailer driven by DEAN A. MITCHELL, 37, of Atglen, Pa., and crashed head-on into the rig, which is owned by Basciani Foods of Avondale, Pa., police said.
MITCHELL suffered minor injuries in the collision, but didn't require any medical attention, police said.
Police concluded that McNEILL was at fault.
