MOTORCAR BREAKS HIS SKULL
Newsboy Is In Critical Condition At Mercy Hospital.
Struck by an automobile driven by Benjamin S. Bonebrake, 819 University Parkway, Robert Lee Montgomery, 13 years old, a newsboy, 1226 Alsquith street, is at Mercy Hospital suffering from a fractured skull.
Shortly before 7 o’clock last night while Mr. Bonebrake was driving his car north on Charles street, just above Union Station, young Montgomery leaped from a car directly in front of the automobile. Mr Bonebrake was driving the machine slowly, but he was unable to avoid striking the boy. He jumped from his machine and with the aid of W. D. Nelson Thomas, 2422 North Charles street, and several other men, he placed the unconscious lad in his automobile and hurried him t the hospital. Dr. Crane stated the boy’s condition was critical, as it is believed his skull is broken.
