Haynesville, LA Oilfield Fire Kills Two, May 1922

TWO MEMBERS OF DRILLING CREW ARE BURNED TO DEATH

Haynesville, La., May 3. -- Harmon W. Barner, gang pusher, and Marvin Leaten, derrick man, members of the drilling crew on the Humble Oil and Refining Company's No. 1 Kendrick in section 16-23-8, Haynesville oil field, were burned to death Sunday when a spark generated by a piece of tubing falling against the rotary table ignited gas and oil.
