NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 20.--Alexander Porter and his wife, living on Edgewood Plantation, near Providence, La., locked their four children up in their home last night and went to church. Shortly there-after the house caught fire and before help arrived burned to the ground.
The charred bodies of the children were found at the windows and doors, where they had been overcome by the flames while endeavoring to break out of the burning building.
