Hartford, KY Miners Killed By Black Damp, May 1913

FIVE MINERS KILLED.

Hartford, Ky., May 6. -- Five men were killed by black damp today in a deserted shaft of a coal mine belonging to the Taylor Mining Company.
The men were working near the shaft when C. F. FRAZIER, one of the number, went to explore the abandoned digging.
He fell into the water and with the four others who went to his rescue succumbed to the black damp.
Beside FRAZIER, the victims were:

F. TOURK.
JIM PORTER.
