ONE PERSON DIES AND THREE HURT IN SALOON BLAST.
Henderson, Ky., Nov. 12 (AP) -- One person was killed and three others seriously injured today in a gas explosion that destroyed a saloon and rocked downtown Henderson. Damage was estimated at $20,000 to surrounding buildings.
JOHN LONG, 60, a customer in the saloon, was killed by the force of the explosion which Fire Chief Fletcher Martin said was caused by an accumulation of gas.
LOUIS HOFFMAN, 50, owner of the saloon, his wife and JOE MIDDLETON, who lives with the saloon proprietor, were burned. None was believed critically injured.
Fronts of store buildings across the street from the saloon were wrecked.
Martin said "HOFFMAN apparently left the gas on in the rear of the store."
