Asphalt, KY Train Wreck, Jan 1893

Three Men Instantly Killed.

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Jan. 30.---The fast freight from New York to New Orleans on the Newport News and Mississippi Valley road was wrecked at Asphalt, a small station about seventy miles below this city. James Price, the engineer, Alfred Tierney, the fireman, and Walter Harris, a colored brakeman, were crushed under the engine and instantly killed.
