Marshalltown, June 26. -- Special:
Fire yesterday destroyed the plant of the Lennox Machine company, causing $112,000 damage. The fire is said to have started in slack coal in the boiler room.
The plant was one of the largest in this city and several hundred men were employed. DAVID J. LENNOX, who invented most of the articles manufactured, is president of the company. The plant was built up from a very small beginning and has been in operation here about twenty years. It had previously been partly damaged by fire on several occasions. During the past several months it has been operated only a portion of the time owing to labor troubles.
